Black and white and color reproductions of photos and concert fliers. One of the holy grails of Punk books! Very hard to find a copy that hasn't fallen apart. In 1976 Punk Rock was rejected by the music industry, the media and established venues. Despite this on 1st January 1977 THE ROXY CLUB, LONDON WC2, opened exclusively for Punk Rock. The Roxy Club became the focal point of this new phenomenon. In its short intense existence the club featured every available Punk band. Then on 23rd April 1977 the club changed hands. But not before the spirit had been captured. Credited to the late Michael Dempsey, who was manager for The Adverts (one of the bands pictured). Features early punk bands including The Damned, The Slits, Wire, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Clash, Penetration, Buzzcocks, X-Ray Spex, The Heartbreakers and others. All pages are present and intact.
The spine is in excellent condition. Heavier crease to the front cover, lower left hand corner. Two ink marks to rear cover.
The major flaw is that pages 17-28 have some damage to lower corner with some peeling, paper loss, and small pin pricks.
