A collection of short stories detailing Hector France's experiences in the Algerian desert. A graphic and exciting account of experiences that blend together exoticism and barbarism to make a thrilling and exquisite volume. Profusely illustrated throughout with twenty two etchings, and a coloured frontispiece.

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, excellent with only minor shelfwear and slight bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities.

Internally, hinges are slightly loose to front board, otherwise binding is firm. Pages are bright and clean. Collating complete with coloured frontispiece and twenty one etchings throughout. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy.

Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair.
