Winston Churchills personal account of his first few months during the Second Boer War initially as a war correspondent for The Morning Post. It details his capture and subsequent escape from a Boer prison that made him famous in the UK. After his escape he joined the army as well as continuing as a war correspondent and was involved in lifting the seige of Ladysmith and taking of Pretoria.

There is wear to the covers consistent with age, the fold out maps are in good condition with wear to the edges.
