Very nice First Book Club Edition, published in 1955 before the second impression. Lolita Vladimir Nabokov First 1st/1st Book Club Edition Putnam 1955. Description: First Book Club Edition published shortly after the first trade edition.

Grey striped paper covered boards over black cloth spine, gilt lettering to spine. This edition is almost identical in all aspects and appearance to the trade first edition, except the top edge is not stained red and the end papers are white not red. Condition: Pages clean, bright and unmarked.

Light toning from jacket on endpapers. Boards Very Good + with light rubbing, barest dulling to spine and patches of toning to lower front cover and along rear cover edge. Dust Jacket kept in protective mylar sleeve Very Good + with light general toning and slight chipping to head and foot of spine. Please see photos; message with any questions.
