Charles Hugh Stockley was an officer in the British army and a renowned big game hunter and photographer. He wrote profusely on the subject, writing many books detailing his hunts, particularly across India. This particular work details Stockley's time hunting markhor, gooral, tahr, sambur, tsine, ibex, stag, bear, burhel and other game in northern India, with a chapter on hunting kudu in Somaliland in Africa. Contemporary ink signature to front paste down. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting heavier to the first and last few pages and marginal age toning. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones.
