Narrative of The Life Of Frederick Douglass an American Slave Written by Himself. This is an incredibly rare 1845 first edition first printing of one of the most significant books ever written on slavery.

His account is considered to be one of the most influential pieces of literature to fuel the abolitionist movement. This museum-worthy book would be a star in any personal collection!

In good condition considering its extreme rarity. There is an old price penciled in on the front endsheets as well as an inscription in pen. One of the rear endsheets has pencil writing as well as a portion cut out (please see pictures). Cover has wear and flaking along the spine.
