When King James took the English throne, multiple English translations were used by the Church of England. Recognizing the disunity which this caused, he appointed a group of the day's top scholars to produce an Authorized Version of the Bible. The King James Version (KJV), as it came to be known, is not only one of the most widely used versions of the Bible but also contains some of the most famous and beautiful prose in the English language. It is the basis for many commonly used phrases (such as "In the beginning", "do onto others" etc) and widely known verses such as the 23rd Psalm The Lord is my Shepherd... The exact number of first edition KJV's published is unknown but bibliographers believe there are fewer than 200 copies extant today. This book is offered by Kubik Fine Books Ltd.
