Decorated hardcover no dust jacket; 436 pages; Size Approx. Appleton and Company; 1871, First American edition.

This is volume 2 only of the first American edition of this classic in evolutionary theory. Nicely bound in brown cloth with black decorations and ruled borders to the covers. Gilt lettering on the spine. B y English naturalist Charles Darwin, first published in 1871, which applies evolutionary theory to human evolution, and details his theory of sexual selection, a form of biological adaptation distinct from, yet interconnected with, natural selection. The book discusses many related issues, including evolutionary psychology, evolutionary ethics, evolutionary musicology, differences between human races, differences between sexes, the dominant role of women in mate choice, and the relevance of the evolutionary theory to society.

A fine addition for your bookshelf! A little wear with some fraying at spine ends and corner tips, lower corners lightly bumped, minor unevenness of a few groups of pages at the edge of text-block, otherwise in good plus condition with a solid binding and clean pages. Note: The letter/number at the end of the title line for this listing is just an inventory code for locating the book.
