1926 THE HISTORY OF SPIRITUALISM Antique Occult ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE 1st Ed with DJ

Up for sale is this rare 1926. Set of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's, The History of Spiritualism. The books come in their original dust jackets. The dust jackets are in good- condition with a few chips and tears, including some moderate sized chips to the spines and some chipping along the edges. A few tears are neatly repaired on the backside with acid free archival tape. The jackets comes in removable protective brodart wrappers. The actual books are overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild wear with some fraying and wear to the extremities of the spine and a little edge wear. There is a bit of soiling to some of the page edges. The bindings of the books are good and sound.

The interiors are lightly toned from age with some foxing to the endpapers and scattered light foxing to the text. A few pages have a light bit of soiling or grubbiness.

There are period name inscriptions to the front feps. The first volume's table of contents page & illustration table of contents page each have a tear a couple of inches in length which have been neatly repaired with acid free archival tape. A small amount of other pages have a small marginal tear (about an inch or less in length) or a little bit of nicking/minor chipping. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other very minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, minor interior crack, mild bit of wrinkling, etc.

Generally though, it's a good set. The books measure approximately 9 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches. Each volume is illustrated with 8 black and white plates.
