A truly whimsical and delightful take on Milton's mythology Comus, 1634. Comus is a masque in honor of chastity, written by John Milton. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham (considered the leading illustrator of the Golden Age of British book illustration at the turn of the 20th century). Contains 76 pages, including 24 color illustrations (very nice condition) by Arthur Rackham, including tissue guards. Green cloth gilt lettering to front and spine, this book is in excellent condition for its age.
The cloth boards have some wear to edges and the bottom right-hand corner has been dinged. The spine has evidence a few repaired tears. There is some age related yellowing to some pages.
