Well illustrated with 59 plates including the frontispiece of Everest seen from Base Camp, there are also 4 folding maps including the large coloured map at the end of the volume, all maps are in excellent condition and there are 3 diagrams. This is a very pleasant example of the Fourth Everest expedition and it was the third one with the expressed intention of making the summit. This expedition took many years of planning and gaining permission to climb Everest again. Large 8vo 390pp First Edition 1st Impression [1934].
