Everybook is a story and has a story... This one begins and ends in Shippensburg PA. Inscribed Book with Signature of Author (twice) - Burton Kline. Robert Bridges was the editor of Scribner's Magazine. Burton Kline signed a gift inscription on the inside page to him April 18, 1917. Bridges also preserved the signed note that Burton Kline had included with the book (also dated April 18th) indicating to Mr. Bridges that it was Mr. Burton's hope that Mr.

It is attached to the inside cover no doubt by Mr. That note from Burton Kline is written on note paper from the Boston Evening Transcript Editorial Room. Robert Bridges was from Shippensburg PA and one can only surmise that he donated it to the library in Shippensburg (perhaps in his will) The book shows marks of being circulation as part of the Shippensburg Library collection but it is also stamped Discard.

The book jacket is missing but part of the cover (that tells about the author) is glued inside either by the library or Mr. The book is in good condition with a tight binding and clean inside. There appears to be some watermarks along the edges and the worst damage is some punch marks on the edges (all pictured)... Which may have happened in recent times...

I have no information on the owner who got the book from the Shippensburg Library. The book appears to have been checked out of the library twice as the paper glued on the inside of the back cover shows return dates of August 1946 and March 1949.
