First Edition in dust jacket. Near-Fine in good DJ, preserved in Mylar sleeve for a long time. That's why the boards on the book look so glossy. The Mylar could have been on there for decades.

Corners of spine are bumped, however. Gift inscription in pen and price in pencil on front end-page, along with a small pen scribble, like someone was testing the pen on the book the gall! Before writing the gift inscription. Otherwise the pages are beautifully preserved. Yertle the turtle is the ambitious king of the pond who decides he wants to expand his kingdom.

Yertle orders the turtles to stand on each other's back to form a tall throne, ignoring the complaints of the turtles at the bottom. He then sits atop this throne and proclaims that he rules over all that he sees.
